Summary

Dalhousie University’s Agricultural Campus located in Truro, Nova Scotia is home to state-of-the-art facilities and research dedicated to advancing the agricultural industry within the Atlantic region and around the world. The Banting Building serves as a central hub for engineering faculty and students consisting of classrooms, labs, workshops, and offices. To better facilitate a high-quality learning environment, a supplemental heating system was required in the front offices and classrooms.

In this case, MCA Consultants acted as mechanical consultant and prime consultant, overseeing electrical, and architectural scope. A design solution was developed to connect the new heating system to the existing hydronic system fed from the central heating plant. This comprehensive approach allowed for simplified coordination, and a concentrated effort on the HVAC improvements leading to a satisfied client.
